Telescopes
Telescopes are a great tool for both amateur and professional astronomers who wish to enjoy and better understand the mysteries of space. They allow us a glimpse into a once unknown world of amazing and breathtaking celestial bodies. They are available in a wide variety of sizes, designs, and weights. With so many choices available, there is a model perfect for every level of star gazer.
Space telescopes are probably the most advanced models available and are the dream of every astronomy lover. These models are launched into space and orbit the earth as satellites. While in space, they photograph and transmit images and information that we could never obtain from earth. They are closely monitored by scientists down on the ground to sort and decipher the images they transmit as well as to make sure they are functioning properly. Because these items are orbiting outside of the earth’s atmosphere they are not plagued by interference from background lights. This allows them to capture images that are so sharp and clear, they often leave viewers completely spellbound. Space telescopes provide scientists and astronomers with a great deal of information to help them better understand our solar system. In turn, a better understanding of the universe provides a greater understanding of life here on earth.
A Celestron telescope is a fantastic option for space lovers outside of NASA. With each new product they introduce, Celestron attempts to make astronomy accessible for all ages and experience levels by designing lightweight and ergonomic devices. Many of their models include electronic features which allow users to type in the coordinates of the area they wish to observe. Some common objects are actually pre-programmed into the scope, so you do not even need to know the coordinates of the object you are hoping to see. For example, you can type in Jupiter, and your Celestron telescope will automatically seek out its location. This feature is wonderful for novice astronomers who are not always sure what they are looking at.
An Astroscan telescope is one of the simplest and easiest to use models available. It lacks the complicated adjusters and stands that can easily intimidate first time users. Instead, star gazers are treated to exactly what they want- a breathtaking view of the universe. The set up of an Astroscan model is slightly different than that of more traditional models. This style of scope uses a parabolic mirror which gathers more light than traditional mirrors and focuses the image to one specific point. This allows the image to be focused directly into the eyepiece.
