Telescope Accessories
When you purchase a telescope as your interest grows you’re going to want some good telescope accessories to take advantage of your investment. Much additional equipment available for your scope is a luxury, but others are pieces that allow you to explore different areas of the sky that would impossible with your scope straight out of the box.
One of the coolest pieces of additional equipment you can purchase is a sun filter. This attachment fits on the edge of your scope and allows you to look at the sun during the day. While the process seems dangerous, with the filter, your eyes are protected and you have just opened up a whole new world of exploration. With it, you can see sun spots and solar flares that changes from day to day and move around the surface of the sun.
In completely the other direction is a moon filter. This fits over the eye piece and lets you investigate the surface of the moon. It may come as a surprise to a novice astronomer, but the moon is very bright and without a filter, it can hurt your eyes to look at it through a scope. To really appreciate the craters, or mares, you’ll need this simple attachment.
A barrow attachment ups the amplitude of your scope. Fitting in your eye piece, this piece of equipment increase the intensity of the images you see - basically, a telescope on your telescope.
There are of course other filters and high lenses that will improve your ability to see better and with greater ranger. What’s left is for you to decide what you’re interested in.
